True enough. If we don’t know where the sides of the box are, we can’t think outside them 🙂 Your short ones seem simple on the surface, but the longer the words sink in, the more they get me thinking.
Hello Janna,
I believe if we pack ’em in – readers will have a great time unwrapping and embarking on their own journeys.
Peace and blessings,
Eric
Most time we are unaware that we have built the box and encased ourselves. In so doing, we set our limitation and restrain. Though we don’t recognize it, sometimes we are fortunate that others come knocking at our box and pry us to get out from the comfort zone. Glad that we are not alone in this world and that there is a reason for every meet.
Hello Windy,
One’s comfort zone sometimes becomes a prison. We not only have to show them the door but also push them out for their own good 🙂
Peace,
Eric
Good point and great economy of language. Nice turn on an old cliche.
Hello Catherine,
Readers are intelligent – all we need do is toss a pebble in the pond.
All good wishes,
Eric
Good one Eric! Openness to experience brings a great mind shift… only if we step outside the box.
Best wishes,
A
Thank you, Aparna
And what you say is very true – openess attracts, openess gives abode and openess enriches.
Peace,
Eric
Too many people don’t. lol
LOL – I’m afraid you’re right, Ian 🙂
So very true. Then once we recognize it, we need to understand how narrow or wide and whether it truly contains us.
Hello Val dear,
Very true – recognition is merely the first step – a step that most cannot attain.
Peace and blessings,
Eric
Yes…I’ve often wondered how to recognise the box I’m supposed to be thinking outside of! I probably do it all the time without knowing that’s what it is 🙂 I think I need to that anyway as regards how I am to persuade my notifications that it really isn’t necessary to migrate straight to the new inbox…there’s plenty of room in the original one….the deleted folder really isn’t the place for them to be springing into without my say so! I guess that answers my query as to what the box is then! It is the deleted box (folder) I need to be thinking outside of…hmm…but I would assume I’m doing that anyway since that’s mostly where I seem to be…outside it! Hence the backlog of unseen notifications! Oh well…back to square one then,…how to think outside the box!!! 😉
We travel far, Wolfie,
Sometimes, all we end up doing is – to return home 🙂
Peace,
Eric
Eric, thanks for this. I am thinking about this
Happy reflections, Hikari 🙂
🙂 Eric, thanks
Eric, thank you 🙂
Eric, you are welcome
And adjust our attitudes to be positive when defining the box.
You’re right – better the positive 🙂
Reblogged this on Steve's Blog.
Hello Steven,
Thank you for the re blog – much appreciate this.
Have a good one,
Eric
Yes! Or be jolted out of the box–as in culture shock.
Culture shock – yes, that’s another facet, I reckon.
Thank you for sharing your thought 🙂
You said it Eric! I have been hearing this phrase since I was in school and I always wondered which is the box that they are referring to. And since no one else ever questioned about this, I thought it must be a special case with me. 😛
Hello Rekha,
If you look around you, you’ll see a vast number of humanity surrounds you – including moi. You’re not alone 🙂
Peace and blessings,
Eric
So true. It makes sense indeed. Now I know what’s the problem, I don’t recognize the box.
You know, Indira, sister dear,
The very fact that you say this – indicates you are ahead of most people.
Peace and blessings,
Eric
Still out of the box ideas elude me. But the thought is very encouraging coming from you.
Reblogged this on Dr Mustapha Tahir and commented:
Weekly words of Wisdom.
This is so kind of you, Doctor – to consider these utterances as wisdom.
Thank you for the reblog 🙂
And “the box” means different thing to different people.
Very true, Doctor
A metaphor within a metaphor – like a Chinese puzzle box 🙂
Peace,
Eric
So much truth in so few words. Excellent one, Eric.
Thank you, Susan,
It’s always great fun and challenge to pack ’em in 🙂
Makes sense
Thank you, my Nairobi friend,
Peace,
Eric
A wonderful take on the quote “know the rules well, so you can break them effectively”~Dalai Lama.
Thank you, Odis.
This is really clever, Eric! (which doesn’t surprise me, coming from you…). I am still thinking that we define the box also by its limits so maybe one thing sequentially leads to the other…:)
Best wishes and happy week ahead to you,
Aquileana 😛
Hello Aquileana,
Thank you for the kind compliments.
Yes, some boxes are large and expansive while others are tiny and claustrophobic.
All good wishes,
Eric 🙂
And trust our own intellect to know our box from someone else’s. 🙂
Thank you, Joyce
Yes, we all have our own boxes 🙂
Cheers,
Eric
