  1. Youth in battle gear
    Just twenty – cannon fodder
    Young wife soldiers on

    Dear Eric,

‘Tis true, the generals in fortified citadels issue death warrants to grunts on the ground, dismissing the immense sorrow in loved ones left bereft.

    Enjoy your poems, dear Sir!

    Warmest wishes,
    Paul 🙂

    1. We enjoy killing
      Hard wired in our DNA
      Nature takes its course

      Dear Paul,

All you say is true and media – Urrah! – carefully nurtures and lauds brainless brawny louts. All ultimately paid for by blood.

Thank you for your visit and contributions – they enhance my blog posts.

      All good wishes,
      Eric 🙂

    1. Our women warriors
      Proverbial unsung heroes
      Keep heart, hearth and home

Thank you, Indira, for your visit and comment. What you say is true – mothers especially suffer the most.

      Peace,
      Eric

    1. Tough to visualize
Peace reigns, her war never ends
      Nightmares, her partners

      Hello Ian,
When a family member goes off to war, all their loved ones fight their own wars. No one comes out unscathed, I reckon.
      Peace,
      Eric

    1. The guns fall silent
What was the fight all about?
      Enemies now friends

      Hello Lauren,
Thank you for your visit and comment.
The wealthy and well-connected bloat on blood, while the rest pay the price.
      Peace,
      Eric

  2. Hello Eric,
I know this has a serious undertone, but it’s a weekend and I hope you don’t mind I interprete this in jest.

Husband goes to war with wife, wrong move. Earth perished like the blossoms. Discover wife is worse than a battlefield. LOL.

    Enjoy your weekend.

    1. Choose your enemy
      War is safer than wildcat
      Lesson learnt too late 🙂

      Hello Windy,
Yeah, poor fellow. Give that man a medal – make that two – one for bravery and the other for stupidity 🙂
      Cheers,
      Eric

    1. She waits, a wreckage
      Sleepless nights, lost appetite
      Her life in limbo

Often, it is the man who receives the medals but, besides voicing some perfunctory words, the people who sent him to war ignore the very real anguish of the loved ones left behind.

Thank you, Jane, for your visit and comment.
      Peace,
      Eric
