Writing

An aircraft engineer, logistician, and former corporate executive, Eric Alagan is also a keen observer of people.

Like many self-taught authors, Eric flowed with his muse and wrote thrillers, humour and even non-fiction. His writing gravitated to his passion for history and interest in geopolitics.

Now, he focuses on historical fiction rich in convoluted plots.

Ericโ€™s novels draw from historical facts; myths; legends; and mores of the times. His stories fill with realism and transports the reader to experience life as it was in centuries past.

To give his muse an avenue for expression, Eric uses this blog. He writes flash fiction, haiku and verse in all genres.

He spends a typical day, reading, researching, writing, and revising his manuscripts.

Hobbies

He is also an exercise junkie and enjoys his daily walk-a-jogs. He loves road-biking. But after his 90-year-old grandma beat him in a cycling race, he stays away from road-biking.

He wanted to take up sky-diving but Grandma beat him to it tooโ€”she already has 84 jumps to her credit including 12 free-falls from 15,000 feet. Grandma is also into rock-climbing, lumber-jacking and scuba-diving.

Eric has decided that he will simply try to out-live her.

Yes, Steph has passed this award to all of us and thank you for forwarding it to me. I now have three nominations from three wonderful gals. I’m getting spoilt ๐Ÿ™‚

      Have a great weekend, Eric

    1. Yup, I know and already thanked you for this ๐Ÿ™‚

It is really great that Jen passed this on to you. She is a wonderful and sensitive person like you.

Then it is lovely you are passing it on to buddy Jane, Anil, Julie, Francina, Sirenia and Aslan โ€“ all of whom I read regularly and enjoy. I even know that Eric fellow and his jewels

      Thank you. Luv and hugz

  4. Hey Eric,

Thanks for visiting my blog. It is in its infancy so it is nice to have at least on person enjoying the content. A quick question, do we need to worry about copyright or anything like this? I have some longer content I want to start publishing but as I’m new to the whole thing I’m just a bit worried. Any advice? Sorry to post this here but couldn’t find a way to contact you directly. Should I not worry and just start posting away?

    Thanks,

    Joe

    1. Hello Joe,

No worries buddy – contact me here and if I am on line, I reply quickly or might get back to you in a day or two.

      1. Your posts are interesting and I plan to return.

      2. Post length: A suggestion, if I may. Keep your posts short – under 3 minutes’ read as most people simply don’t have the time to linger. But it is your blog and you’re the boss…

      3. Copyright: Indicate that you own the copyright of the material you post. Check out how I and other bloggers do this. (Frankly, if someone plagiarises, you can’t stop them. But if the word leaks out they are damned by the blogging community).

      4. Bread & Butter stuff: I suggest you don’t publish material meant for a forthcoming book – stuff you need to make money from – keep those under wraps. (I am posting excerpts from my novels – but these are established copyright material).

      5. Credit: Also if you use anyone else’s stuff – please don’t forget to credit your source.

Hope I’ve been of some help.

      All good wishes, Eric ๐Ÿ™‚

      1. Great help! Thanks for getting back to me. I am excited about this venture, having fun writing, and love reading what others out there are doing! Thanks again.

      2. P.S. – What’s the etiquette for adding people to my blogroll? Should I ask their permission first? I have added you I hope that is ok.

      3. No ‘etiquette’ as far as I know. People have added me without my knowledge – this is very flattering, humbling and drives me to be conscious about the quality of my posts. I thank you.

However, if a blog is filled with profanity or undesirable posts (racism, inciting to violence, etc) – then I and most people would not want any part of it.

If your blog is abused – you can contact the Support people in Word Press…

        Cheers, Eric

      4. Thanks and I will be conscious. No need for all that in a public forum such as this, especially when we are trying to share, re-create, or capture the more beautiful nuances of life. Thanks again for all your help.
