I know of at least two people who don’t have a single envious bone in them – and readily celebrate the success of others. I base this conclusion on my observations of their words and actions – their patterns of behaviour – gathered over three decades. Gifted people.
I think it’s a bit conflicting for me. When I feel the person is undeserving, then I won’t be so forthright with my well wishes. But I will be most delightful if my buddy or close kins or even deserving strangers who achieved great, more so if I had contributed in some small ways. So for me, it’s not the issue of envy.
We think and feel alike, I reckon. Always lovely to celebrate success – even when the person is a stranger to us. It is motivating and we get to marvel at human persistence and passion that led them to success.
