  1. There is an Indian saying, maybe it is universal, that when you point a finger at someone else, three point back at you. We have to take responsibility. Actually, who is our responsibility thief?

    1. That’s a good one, Ankur, and yes, I’m aware of that Indian saying.

  2. I think I am my own time thief – when I have it I tend to fritter it away thinking I have lots left. Timetabling and scheduling is the only way to make sure I make the best use of the minutes and hours.

    1. Hello Sarah,

Thank you for taking time to visit, read, and comment. And much appreciate your haiku too 🙂

Time management takes discipline – sounds like a non-fun word, I accept, but there you have it. We all procrastinate; some more and more often; others less and less often.

  3. Good one, Eric! When will there ever be enough time to do it all? With social media now, it’s so easy for passing time to seem like minutes, but actually turn into hours, if we’re not careful.

It’s not that it’s wasted, but it does depend on what we’re doing. I don’t consider time wasted when I’m blogging, whether I’m writing, posting, or reading other blogs. But if I’m on Facebook, that’s another perspective. 🙂

I like this quote about time; it speaks the truth: “Time is too slow for those who wait, too swift for those who fear, too long for those who grieve, too short for those who rejoice, but for those who love, time is eternity.” ~ Henry Van Dyke (hope you enjoyed).

Have a good rest of the week! 🙂

    1. Hello Lauren,

First off, I hope you’re doing well.

As promised, I’ve been praying for you twice a day when I usually go down on my knees to talk to and thank Our Good Lord.

Yes, time spent must be seen in perspective and blogging is certainly not a waste of time, I agree 🙂

Love that quote from Henry Van Dyke. Thank you for sharing.

    1. Hello Ina,
      Same here.
I’ve been spending too much time on a particular social media platform – easily an hour or so everyday. It’s a site on local politics but after a few months, I noticed the same people simply venting without offering any real solutions. I’ve quit and now have that time for my blog to pursue my passion – writing.

  4. Our time is relentless, and, I agree, easily wasted. But does every precious moment have to be productive when merely being can bring pleasure and content? As always thank you for a provocative post. Thank you, also, for your book offer – fortunately I already have, and have read them.

    1. Hello Jane,
You’re right of course. The word “productive” takes us to realms which are temporal, perhaps mercenary, and not always the reason for being.
P/s Yes, I believe you already have copies my books, and thank you. The offer was directed more at readers who are new to my blog – but I had chosen not to make the distinction.

  5. By nature I’m a time organizer. Always unsatisfied I couldn’t accomplish more in the day, however sometimes that can be at the expense of good health practice. I suppose it depends on the definition of wasted time. To a hard driving corporate person exercising could be a waste of time when they could be watching the stock movements on computer screen. But balance it is so important, as is good relaxing rest. I know you were focusing on such foolishness as hours on video games, TV etc. I totally agree with that.

    1. Hello Ian,
Most of our time is invested – even sleep is an investment in rest and recuperation.
Some of our time is wasted – as in when we repeat mistakes already learned.
Both are okay, I reckon – as we can only get better.
But the activities that steal time – and you’re so right. Video games is one clear example.

  6. Our time thieves-hmmph, I think it is the clock maker, why only 24 hours a day, could have been longer, so we can aged slower. LOL.

Another culprit-Gravity, why is earth circulating faster than before? I don ‘t mind it moves fast when I’m working, but when I’m holidaying, time should pace out slowly so I can savor the experience. Seriously, we should have an adjustable time gadget. Life will be a lot easier.

    Enjoy the week, Eric.

    1. Hello Windy,
Yes, why 24 hours – we ought to have gone metric and used 100 hours a day with 100 minutes making an hour, and hundred seconds a minute. LOL!
I don’t know about the earth rotating faster than before but time does fly when one is having fun.
But if the earth does rotate fast – we’ll all be lighter. One way to lose weight. LOL.
