    1. Hello Ankur,
Your comments, like your blog posts, tease and provoke much thought, my dear friend 🙂
Trust the week has been great,
      Eric

      All day long we “judge”
Perhaps a wrong choice of words
      Tar all decisions

  1. Well said, Eric, and truth that we simply can’t judge a book by its cover. 🙂
I imagine most people wear masks and when their true identities are revealed, they’re either like the devil or they’re not good enough to fit in with the crowd. Branching out a bit, what about computer screens? Social media? Other forms of masks, not letting true selves shine through, and maybe for good reason or more for hidden insecurities. There are so many layers here, I believe…
    Take care 🙂

    1. Hello Lauren,
A well thought through and all-encompassing comment. When I penned the haiku, social media was not in my thoughts – you opened up new vistas. Thank you, my dear friend 🙂
      Cheers,
      Eric

    1. I burst out laughing, dear Ina.
Your comment reminded me of an old man who said, “At my age I’m always stripping to have the doctor (in the presence of nurses) check here and probe there. I might as well walk into the hospital in a bath robe and make it easy for all 🙂

      Thank you, for that 🙂
      Eric

  2. Puts in mind the parable (story) of the Emperor’s New Clothes, an occasion when the clothing did not make the man! Thank you for today’s tickle

    1. Hello Jane,
That was a good one and gave me a welcomed chuckle.
      Cheers,
      Eric

  3. It is sad when people hide behind the suits and uniforms of their office or profession, and present themselves as something they aren’t. Thankfully there are more honest people than dishonest ones.

    1. Jane buddy,
Yes, actions do speak plenty, don’t they?
Years ago I started assessing people based on their actions and not words. I looked for patterns of behaviour—not one-offs—as we all make and regret one-off mistakes. If a person consistently behaves in a certain way, good or bad, that probably says much.

      As sure as the sun
      Predictable as the moon
      Actions predicate

    1. Hello my Nairobi friend,
You’re so right and some things are best kept hidden 🙂
      Cheers,
      Eric

      Is it wearer’s fault?
      Modesty here, outrage there
      Or viewer’s values?

  4. Perhaps fashion designers could have seen all facet of man that they can don some with peacock feathers, scanty pieces, rags, sparkling embellishments, sinister wear and the likes, and make them parade with it. LOL.

Have a good week ahead, Eric.

    1. Hello Windy dear,
It is true that most people are slaves to “fashion”. The great need to fit in turns many into grey clones of so called trendsetters. And clothing serves as proxies for the bigots who are quick to stereotype people into good and bad.
Have a great week too, dear.
      Luv and hugz,
      Eric

  5. You got it all together nicely there. Our face is a mask covering our innermost thoughts. As you’ve pointed out those thoughts are often most flawed but unseen. It is only when thoughts are transferred into action the mark of a man, or woman, is known.

    1. Hello Ian,
You’re kind because I reckon it is you who put it together very nicely with your comment. Actions indeed are the hallmark of a person’s true character.
      All good wishes,
      Eric
