Well said, Eric, and truth that we simply can’t judge a book by its cover. 🙂
I imagine most people wear masks and when their true identities are revealed, they’re either like the devil or they’re not good enough to fit in with the crowd. Branching out a bit, what about computer screens? Social media? Other forms of masks, not letting true selves shine through, and maybe for good reason or more for hidden insecurities. There are so many layers here, I believe…

It is sad when people hide behind the suits and uniforms of their office or profession, and present themselves as something they aren’t. Thankfully there are more honest people than dishonest ones.

Yes, we often hear this advice to calm nervous speakers: imagine your audience in their birthday suits. The last time I tried that, I burst out laughing. And my talk centred on our new sales strategy.

Yes, actions do speak plenty, don’t they?
Years ago I started assessing people based on their actions and not words. I looked for patterns of behaviour—not one-offs—as we all make and regret one-off mistakes. If a person consistently behaves in a certain way, good or bad, that probably says much.

Perhaps fashion designers could have seen all facet of man that they can don some with peacock feathers, scanty pieces, rags, sparkling embellishments, sinister wear and the likes, and make them parade with it. LOL.

It is true that most people are slaves to “fashion”. The great need to fit in turns many into grey clones of so called trendsetters. And clothing serves as proxies for the bigots who are quick to stereotype people into good and bad.

You got it all together nicely there. Our face is a mask covering our innermost thoughts. As you’ve pointed out those thoughts are often most flawed but unseen. It is only when thoughts are transferred into action the mark of a man, or woman, is known.
