1. Eric, you so perfectly state what is the absolute truth. If we never open doors, we will never find new and exciting experiences.

    1. Hello and thank you, Michelle,
You know of course that all I did was clothe old wisdom in new attire. And opening new doors can be exciting and also daunting.
Thank you, dear friend, and all good wishes,

      New slants help focus
      Old truths to rediscover
      Memory needs jogs

    1. Hello Ankur, my friend
I think I spotted your hidden meaning there.
Yes, we’re quick to advise others while procrastinating before new doors ourselves. LOL.
      Good one,

      Do as I advise
Succeed, and I might do too
      Guinea pigs abound

    1. Good one, Rabirius,
That sometimes happens when we knock on the wrong door at the wrong time. LOL.

      A rubber bung helps
Hope the owner’s dog is leashed
      Worse than slamming doors

    1. Hello Ian,
And when they are pleasant, we always feel that we did right πŸ™‚

      Pleasure or pain hides
      Truth not a destination
      Can be a journey

  2. Well said, Eric. We must try new doors if we want different answers. Same doors, no change. But as Jane said, it does take courage to try something new and to be accepting to whatever lies behind that new door. I don’t normally link my poems, but your haiku evoked memories of an old poem. πŸ™‚

Have a great tomorrow, my friend…

    1. Hello Lauren dear,
I combined your two comments complete with the link. I went back to the old poem and the trip was reflective.
Yes, Jane did hit the nail there.
      Thank you for sharing,

      Thoughts trigger more thoughts
We have the answers in us

    1. Your observations are very true, Ina.
Nothing is wasted unless we chose to waste them.

      No event is lost
      Flowers and brambles can teach
      Is student ready?

  3. taking a new path
    presents opportunities
    for growth and learning

    stick with what we know
    boring and familiar
    live life on repeat

Thanks for the philosophical head crunching this morning πŸ™‚

    1. Thank you, Sarah,
For sharing two apt haiku that provide two slants. Much appreciate these.
Hope that the week is coming along fine,

      Wheels crank, thoughts let loose
      Exercise exhilarates
      Ready for the world

  4. Even the good Lord says, “knock and ye shall be answered”. If we don’t try, I reckon we become contented with the answer we have and will never find the greater answer possibly a “pot of gold” awaiting in one of the doors.

    1. Very true, Windy dear
      Quite often there waits a better answer;
Luv and hugz for a dear friend,

      Good, better and best
      Many minds, many views help
      Final choice yields best

  5. Oh yes, but who knows what new doors will bring. It takes courage to show up and try doesn’t it my buddy? This haiku of yours nails it. Hugs for you xXx <3

    1. Yes, it does take courage to try something new, my dear
Luv and hugz for my buddy Jane,

      Old problems weigh down
      Fear and comfort holding back
      Looking not seeing

    1. Hello Chris,
Welcome back πŸ™‚ Like your haiku πŸ™‚
      Trust that all is well,

      Knocking on the door
      A salesman, prowler or worse
      A magnet draws me
