The future is vague, lies beyond the wavering heat of the land.
Man knows the challenges and has the answers. But our so-called leaders – the better ones, not the scums – lack resolve.

What is natural in the animal kingdom has to be reminded in the human world. In this aspect, it contradicts the insult when we say “don’t behave like an animal.”
Until people are asked to pay if they leave behind unnecessary extra helpings at a buffet table, then they learn to take just enough.
Yes, even now the earth’s riches are more than enough to share for this and future generations. But not with the current crop of rapacious “leaders” in big business and politics.

Another deep one Eric. Can be read in many directions. My take is you are referring to the fact our labours should not be at the expense of the next generation. We don’t seem to be very good at that.
Great haiku, Eric! Will there be enough? I’m unsure of how things will be for future generations. Unsure of many things in our nation. π
Hello Lauren,

This speaks to me of abundance – enough for all if we only take proper care. Maybe a bit like manna in the wilderness.

Thank you, Ian,
You got my drift π You always do and quite often expand on it too.

Sure thing. If you take roots and seeds and all, nothing will be left, sooner or later.
Hello Rab,
At the rate we are going, it might just be sooner than later.
