Flash fiction…word count 33 or less…
Note from Eric: I’m down with a bad flu and unable to visit/post comments on your weblogs. I’ll do the best I can but rest assured will catch up in a few days or so…

Geez, I can do without this guest. Only leaves goose bump on me, absolutely not good company. This is freaky business.
Hope you are feeling better today.
What a house guest, huh?
Yes, feeling much better today…thank you for asking.
A picture is worth a thousand words… But in such few words you can paint a most vivid picture. Well done, I hope you get well soon.
Thank you for this high compliment. I did not see it that way > painting a 1000-word picture with a 33-word flash fiction. Hmmmm….what a thought…
P/s Yes, am getting better.
Hi Eric,
Hope you are better now.
I’ve nominated your blog for a Sunshine Award. For details see https://transitionscoachingcayman.wordpress.com
🙂 Fiona
Congratulations Fiona, and also to all your nominees. It is always humbling to be recognised by fellow bloggers. Thank you for passing this award to me, Eric 🙂
P/s: Yes, I am getting better.
Glad to hear you’re getting better.
Captivating, in so few words.
Thank you and glad you found it so.
P/s Posted in your post Freedom Ain’t Free > my comment > please check your spam 🙁
My first time reading a flash fiction, so that’s how it is ^_^ very nice choice of words! When circumstances break off the law of nature it gave us the chills, of course you know other entities from “other” part of the world could have been around… (~-_-)~
get well soon sir! 😀
Get well soon Eric.
Thank you Fia – for your visit and well wishes, Eric 🙂

Thank you Soma – I plan to post at least one flash fiction a week…and see how it goes.
Feeling slightly better – and work is piling up as my publisher is on my case about my novel – deadline nearing. Not to worry – I’ll make it. And thank you for asking…
Peace, Eric (No hugz as I don’t want to spread my flu 🙂
this was scary. well written eric.
Thank you Sharmishtha.
Horror is new for me but I reckon mundane “props” evoke greater fear/horror than old run-down castles.
Not many encounter/enter castles but most have steak dinners (hence my flash fiction, Dinner); a gust of wind is common in many homes; and, we’ve all seen or involved in a road kill (see flash fiction Road, Killed)
Get well soon! Hope you are already well. I missed the footnote, the story captured entire attention.
take care my friend.
Strange climate in Singapore: flu in summer, wind inside the house but not outside. I think I’ll stay here! 😉
Love and hugs.
Get well soon!
Steph
We’ll have to inform the flu bugs in Singapore – they are in the wrong place/time – probably some illegal immigrants…
You should put them back on the plane home, that’s what they do here with illegal immigrants. 😀
That would have really set Tina to thinking. She needs to visit Ghost Busters.
All the more if she lives in a secluded farmhouse or something miles from anyone else…
Unexplainable phenomena, defying natural laws and logic. Now that’s horrifying!
When something defies all natural (known) laws – it can be scary…
“leaves unruffled” is nicely worded!!
Thank you Terri.
Eric, that gave me chills up my neck!
That was the intention, Jeannie – looks like perhaps I pulled it off, as one never knows
Just enough to leave us wanting more! Wish it were longer. Intrigued- who is the guest!
Yes, the guest’s identity is intriguing…fill in the blank as you see it 🙂
Wow…intrigue so quickly in this..well done IMHO.
Thank you…
I read somewhere – if one can write flash fictions > leads to tight short stories > leads to tight/fast paced novels. Glad you found “Guest” intriguing.
I’m ashamed to say I read it once – moved along and then stopped suddenly – hey – the leaves…So then came back and read it again – man, that’s scary!!
No worries – flash fictions are so tightly packed, miss one word and perhaps we miss it all…
Now this I like – how spooky would that be?
It is like walking past a tree which is swaying in the wind – while the rest of the woods remains still…
a hair raising image!
Glad the imagery came through – now she has locked herself in…and there is something in the house with her…
( laughing )… just like in the movies, there’s a monster about, lets split up and go search the basement…
I really like what you’ve got going on here. Perfectly sets up conflict, setting, and character in a few words. Keep up the good work – flash fiction needs dedicated writers like you!
Thank you. Much appreciate your visit and encouragement.
You’re welcome, sir. I’ll be sure to stop by again soon.
You may have inspired me to try my hand at flash fiction/sudden fiction again. I’ve had one flash piece published, but I’ve not really revisited the style in a while.
