A good friend Eva, blogging as thejerseygal, commented on my post SLEEP. That triggered this short poem.
Do these lines speak to you – what do they say?
Love to hear your thoughts.

It’s a drop that brings life into existence—- very beautiful; simple sweet and powerful message
Hello Tanveer,
Good of you to drop by – and you travelled all the way back to 2013!
Thank you and all you say is true. A drop is all that matters.
Kind regards,
Eric
P/s You comment prompted me to write this flash fiction:
–
There was much excitement in the space centre. The Mars module had returned, splashing into the Pacific Ocean and its precious cargo—all of 100 grams—safely retrieved.
The cellophane funnel left in the open on the red planet had collected condensation in a small glass jar. It had been a difficult experiment and a dozen things could have gone wrong. But for once, everything performed as planned.
And the cellophane contraption had collected a few millimetres of precious fluid.
What secrets will it reveal under a microscope? What universes reside in the drops of water?
The scientific community, and the world, held its breath.

Very true 🙂 lets wait !
Eric, I am honored to even ignite a word, let alone a thought that built this poem in your mind that you’ve shared here. You are an amazing writer and you make me want to improve my skills, both writing and interpersonal because self-improvement walks the path of life with the soul.
Always humbled by your words,
Love,
Eva
Hello Eva dear,
If my words can touch but one person, give a leg-up but for one good thought – truly, I’ve succeeded in using my meagre talent well.
Your words did all these for me and helped birthed this poem.
Luv, peace and blessings,
Eric
I’m going to link it to my facebook and twitter accounts because I am so honored and want others to see what an awe-inspiring artist you are.
Your words sum up all the truth that lives within me and in my world.
thank you for truly touching my life from afar.
xo
That is so sweet, Eva – yes, please do put it on FB and twitter. All good wishes dear, Eric 🙂
also, meagre is not you….you have EVERYTHING. You gave life to the word TALENT. Before you, there was just some hope, but you gave us all something to aspire to.
I am not poet by any stretch of the imagination but envisaged an ocean of tears.
Kelly dear
I’m no poet either and know very little about pentameter and all the technical stuff. I write from my heart based on life’s experiences and observations. Some call it poetry, others don’t.
Cheers, Eric
If it is “A Drop of Ocean” as in the title, we can expect an unimaginable outcome. But usually the drop of water is enough to create ripples – positive or adverse. As you said in Fallen Grace, every bit of our life is about vibration. Just like this short poem is enough to create such diversity of thoughts. Great post.
Hello Jasey,
the title is a bit of a double take – if you know what I mean. The analogy you draw – a drop of water and this ‘short’ poem – is remarkable.
Thank you dear and have a great week ahead,
Eric
Lovely thought. Short beautiful poem.
A drop of water
In the ocean it was lost
on desert provoked life
Hello Indira – thank you for sharing this short poem.
And what a coincidence as I’ve loaded a poem along similar lines – due Wednesday 24 April.
Cheers, Eric
Thanks to you Eric, your poem made me write this.
So the profound meaning of life sometimes, just a single drop or a single kind word changes the entire day.
That is so very right Val – so very right.
I’ve been a recipient of many such single kind words/acts that uplifted me. I like to think I’ve done the same for others. I also dread I might have unwittingly contributed many acts/words to drench the spirit of others.
Well, as long as we allow thought to precede words/actions – there is hope for spreading kindness, I reckon.
Have a great week ahead,
Eric
