Quite often, many take shortcuts – remain focussed on goals – drive – push – shove – even step on others – SUCCESS 🙂
Once at the pinnacle, we survey our realms –
Opps 🙁

Thank you and all good wishes 🙂
Round and round we go in life… soon coming to a comfortable spot (or so I hope!)
It also says something, Christy B
How many times did we miss that spot which we seek?
Peace, Eric
Good insight and wisdom in this poem, Eric. I think shortcuts rob the cheater of joy that is found in the journey.
Blessings ~ Wendy
That is a lovely thought, Wendy
The joy that could be found. You say much in these words.
I simply love those pictures of flowers.
Cheers, Eric
P/s Green is my lucky colour – although I love Blue more. Strange, huh!
Our youngest son has one green eye and one blue eye. I think both colors are wonderful! 🙂
A deep one, Eric.
Thank you Uzo – each dive as deep as we wish.
Peace Bro,
Eric
Aww…Eric, so much going on here in so few lines..wonderful job, as always, my friend! Sending hugs your way for a wonderful day! 🙂
Dear Lauren,
We each light a candle and trust our readers to hold it up to the hieroglyphics they wish to read.
We are not the talent or the wisdom — we are the candle holder — and that is a Blessing in itself.
Peace, luv and hugz for a friend,
Eric
Yeah, it is indeed a deep thought. 🙂
Dear Yoshiko,
No deeper than the oceans we need to cross, I reckon.
Thank you for your visit and thoughts 🙂
Peace, Eric
You nailed it with less my lovely buddy xx
Jane buddy,
Less is more, as always 🙂
Luv and hugz, Eric
Obstacles will appear so we had to make choices – the long detour or the tempting route. Temptation most often is quick on result, but we look back with shame if it was a poor choice and worst if it had hurt others. Sometimes you wonder if you even want to reach the top – is it worthwhile. Perhaps being a better person exceeds being on top.
Yes, I recall a saying –
“The higher one climbs, the more one steps on others, the more one exposes one’s butt, the greater the temptation for those below to kick it and the harder the fall.”
Peace and hugz,
Eric
Its wonderful, the few lines speak volumes ! you r words always mesmerize!
Your are kind Soumya,
Always bearing bouquets that brighten every place you enter.
Luv and hugz, Eric
This is unconventional and deep !!
Regards 🙂
Yes, it is convoluted in more ways than one – even if I say so myself 🙂
Thank you for the visit and comment Maryam.
Cheers, Eric
Now that’s a deep thought indeed!
Yes, Ian it is 🙂
I actually wrote several paragraphs of prose about this – but resorted to a (short) poem instead – always challenging to say more with less.
Cheers, Eric
I like metaphors, regardless of how hard it is for me to get them at times.
kinda like a puzzle, and I love puzzles.
Hello Happy,
Metaphors only work when we don’t bury them under too much swarf, I reckon. Like you, I had been stumped by some metaphors – but the fun is in uncovering the meanings. Archaeologists – all of us, eh 🙂
Thank you for the visit and comment,
Eric
Ditto 😀
Short and succint 🙂
I know my metaphors, and that’s a good one… 🙂
Hello Ned,
Yes, I figured you would.
We seem to have an exchange where acronyms are concerned, eh 🙂
Have a good one,
Eric
