I thank someoneiswakingupforgetting for passing me the Candle Lighter Award on 23rd January and would love to pass this on to three bloggers whom I had been reading for several weeks now.
The Candle Lighter Award is an award for a post or blog that is positive and brings light into the world. The Candle Lighter Award belongs to those who believe, who always survive the day and who never stop dreaming, who do not quit but keep trying.
There are no rules. You can simply accept and you are done.
Recipients can pass it on to as many nominees as they wish and as often as they wish. This does not diminish the weightage attached to this award. On the contrary, it places the onus on the person passing on the award. Recipients are encouraged to take their time to satisfy themselves before publicly recognising any awardees.
I recognise and pass on the Candle Lighter Award to the following bloggers whom I admire:
Rafa Chacon I find his poems eloquent and fed by a lifetime’s experience and observations.
Gporiginal This young man, Eric McCarty amazes especially with his Short Stories.
Ianscyberspace Having lived and worked in Australia for several years, Ian’s stories resonate for me.
I shall not go into more details but encourage you to visit their blogs and take away some lovely thoughts and writings.
All of them do not display any awards and perhaps they are not into it, but I would still like to recognise them for being Candles.
All good wishes to Rafa Chacon, Eric McCarty, Ian Grice and their well-wishers,
Eric Alagan

lovely concept and idea. its a beautiful thing you did.
Thank you so much Eric. I’m honored to be nominated by you.
The Candle Lighter Award will be my post tomorrow. I’m going to be working on this today. I wrote a short story over the weekend. You got me thinking; it’s been a while since I wrote a short story on my blog. It’s an area I’m really working to develop. I hope you enjoy it.
Best wishes.
P.S. I’m really grateful for your nomination. It is always interesting to me to learn what others recognize from my work. It’s a delight to know you feel I bring light into the world, especially since I find your work to be heartfilled an inspring. I am sincerly flattered. Thank you.
Dear Eric 🙂
I was reading you for several weeks and your flash fictions are great. It opened a new world of speaking and interacting – a world I am not part of due to the nature of my work and the people I associate with on a daily basis, here in Singapore.
No flattery my friend…you richly deserve the Candle.
All good wishes,
Eric
Congratulations Eric, well deserved award!
Francina

Dear Christy,
Always a pleasure to have you visit with your comments.
I enjoy your posts too, keep it up 🙂
Eric
Well deserved Eric as you do shine a very bright light and gratitude buddy for the introduction to three new great blogs – love and hugs x
Dear Jane,
Thank you and you’re very welcome.
Trust you’re having a great weekend.
Luv and hugz from your buddy 🙂
Hello buddy…chores done, laundry on, Em at work, paint drying on various pieces of furniture and I am tucked away in my study writing…my chosen topic is finances as I struggle with this so I am guessing I am not alone…my mind keeps playing tricks and coming up with poetry!! The sun’s out though so I’m trucking on….it must be nighttime over with you..hope you have had a good day buddy…love and hugs x
Hello there Jane 🙂
So lovely to hear from you. It is ten past ten in the evening here.
The youngest is out with her friends (as you know, my two older ones are in Brisbane and New York). Lisa and I returned from dinner at a homely place about two blocks away. I usually date my wife once a week. Walked back, enjoying a beautiful night – 29 degrees Celcius. Just downed two stiff whiskeys. Writing up my blog post for tomorrow, when I saw your comment. Yes, it has been a good day. Praise and thank the Lord.
Finances…hmm, one of my favourite topics! At this time of the day, poetry sounds better though…
I look at the numbers spread out
They stare back, teasingly
Come on, fall into place now
They smile, knowingly
I’ve better things to do with my time
Like children, they refuse playfully
I know they’ll stack up neatly
After they’ve had their fun with me
Luv and hugz buddy,
Eric 🙂
Eric you star…keep taking the whiskey as your reply is lyrical and entertaining! Glad you and Lisa had a good evening…..I think ‘date’ nights are underrated. It’s early afternoon here, slightly (only slightly) above freezing but with brilliant sunshine. I like your poetic lines on finance and as you can guess I am trying for a humourous angle with this topic…take care buddy and sleep well x
29° C at night!!! while we are shivering in our thickest coat. The world’s not fair.
Love from very jealous Steph xxx
Hello luv, I was just logging off when I heard the ping of a message…
Yes, the world is not fair
To us shivering here
While you enjoy there

Eric

Thank you Pak,
All good wishes,

Thank You Eric from the bottom of my heart
I have never dreamed of having such a great honor bestowed. I have always kept myself in obscurity of life, just waiting for my departure.
Although I’ve held secrets and longing to write for years and wasn’t able because of life pressures and demands, but it was not until five years ago when I received my total disability from the military, that I was free to explore the leisure of time, and do what I always wanted to do, write.
So how can a mere “thank you” possibly be enough? You say thank you when someone hands you a tissue when you sneeze. You say thank you when someone saves your place in line. How can I possibly tell you how much Word Press, you, and the people who congregate here, mean to me?
Peace and Blessings to all.
Rafa
Thank you Rafa, for accepting the award.
You have been quietly lighting candles
All I did was to point them out to others
Your words convey much
…………..and I say this truly,
Your “thank you” fills my cup
Rafa, it is my pleasure my friend, to read your words.
All good wishes,
Eric
Wow! Beautiful concept! I love creativity; you’ve got it!
I am missing something here…
Congrats!
Thank you 🙂
