We are fed the purported truth or half truth by leaders and business organisation especially the financial institution. Most of the time, we missed the fine prints. So you are right, the truth change to suit the present and future. Only the misled ones got lost.
Many governments, including Singapore’s, are passing laws against “fake news”. The implication here is, everything the government puts out is deemed the truth. Now that is a laughing matter if not for the serious consequences to our lives and future.

I’ve read some of Kalidasa in my Tamil literature class about 50 years ago (LOL) but not his complete works. You’ve read his works. Well, when you worked in India, you must have completely immersed in their lives and literature.
In the case of Omar Khayyam I’ve read his complete Rubiyat collection several times, and own a copy.
