That is quite a sobering image that you paint. I must say that the frogs in my garden are still very happy and can croak a chorus louder than my husband’s snoring. Sometimes I wonder if the neighbors will complain. The males sit around the pond croaking and the females hop in from all directions then the mating begins. The garden and nature around us is so beautiful that, like my frogs, I feel isolated from the horrors depicted in your Hailu.
Climate change by itself is cyclical and less threatening. But when helped along by humans as you’ve amply illustrated the ride for all of us in the human and animal kingdoms is as threatening as the boiling frog illustration. It’s interesting that all the religions I’ve come across seem to point to “the end of the age” with its different points of view on how this will happen. I think the ancient sages have it right!
It’s in the hands of the rich, the puppet master and the politicians. They have to stop ignoring facts, and stop lining their pockets with wealth that cannot be brought to the netherworld, and look at what their gains have brought upon this planet. Plants, trees and vegetations not only sustain earth but is enough to feed and provide nutrients to human. This should be the direction to move forward.
