  1. Friends are one of the greatest blessings, I’ve found…. when family forsakes you, friends are there, to support with no emotional baggage…
Life without friends would be bleak…

    1. Hello Valerie,

It is true what you say. A true friend is a blessing.

      We must count our blessings,
      Eric

  2. A few friends who go the extra miles for you is worth more than the dozens that stood afar to watch. Some are fortunate to have many friends to lend a pair of hands anytime. But if you only have a few, just count your blessings that you are not alone.

    1. Hello Windy,

For some, one true friend is enough. Better to have two or ten. You are right—and blessings they are.

      Luv and hugz,
      Eric

    1. Hello Lauren,

Many try to be true friends. We need to reach out and do our part—as much as they too must invest in the climb.

Trust your week has been great. Wishing you good days ahead,
      Eric

  3. Insightful image. Eric. I like the pinnacle of the few. After all these years I have only a handful of true friends. My sons are the most meaningful of the lot.

    1. Hello Ina,

Yes, our loved ones are our best friends too.

      Thank your for kind compliment.

Have a great (rest of the) week ahead,
      Eric

    1. Hello Jane, dear buddy,

Your Granny was spot on. First, one has to be a friend.

      Thank you for your compliment,
      Eric

  4. I like that description. The pinnacle at the top narrows it down to those who have been closest to you long term, then there are the diminishing levels until you get down to contacts you make in business who are friendly but not real close. This is the first time I’ve seen that depicted as a pyramid.

    1. Hello Ian,

      Your observations are spot on.

Of the thousands we meet, only a few mature into true friends. And that too takes effort and time.

      All good wishes,
      Eric

  5. So true, for those of us old enough to have been born before social media. You might have a job convincing a young person though 🙂

    hundreds never met
names and photos on a screen
    true friends one and all

    1. Hello Sarah,

You are right, the true nature of social media “friends” might be a rude awakening for many of the younger set.

Thank you for the haiku – good one.

      Cheers!
      Eric
