Thank you Eric! You too. To misquote the song from Sound of Music, “those are two of my favourite folks”.

You pegged it Eric. We are the Middle Kingdom, stuck between hard earth and the vastness of space. Earth rotates to give us the opportunity to see and feel things from a new perspective every day. Instead of seeing the obvious, we seek out that which fits our individual ideas of what should be. For most, what is there for us to see, touch, taste, smell, and hear is left behind, illusion of what a satisfying life should be rules. We can’t see the trees through the forest.
You have been busy! I’m hoping to make more time to reacquaint myself with your work. A good way to get the mind working early in the morning!
Actually we are a kingdom by ourselves. We govern, rule and decide our every thoughts and actions. I associate earth rotations to external factors that affect and influence our decisions, and hopefully help us to evolve. Now whether this life we have on earth is an illusion or reality remains unknown.
You touched on several layers, each true and fascinating. Yes, in a sense, we are masters of ourselves. And we’re also buffeted or embraced by our surrounding. Your line on reality and illusion opens up new vistas and enters the realms of the metaphysical.
Drawing from your short comment, one can write a book or even volumes. And I thought my haiku was heavy 🙂
All good wishes for the weekend,
Eric

Your haiku brought Tolkien to mind. I had to read Ian’s comment to bring myself around. As usual provocative – I enjoy your regular mind-nudging posts thank-you.
Yes, Tolkien has written more than the Lord of the Rings.
And thank you for your kind compliment,
Eric P/s My haiku is a poor attempt in Old English – If there are errors, hope someone will point them out.

Good observation there Eric. I can remember being called to the Far Eastern Division of the organization I worked for. Same principle. To the people of Singapore the Far East would be California wouldn’t it? So I had that changed to Asia Pacific Division which describes a region better. We humans like to feel the earth revolves around us don’t we? 🙂
China sees itself as the Middle Kingdom and from their perspective the Americas are in the east and all roads must cross China to go from one end to the other. The Belt & Road Initiative seems set to revive their ancient grandeur.
Cheers!

Everything, Earth, Sun, Moon, should revolve around ME. How do I care about rotation unless they can also rotate around ME.
LOL! Ankur,
I think you just quoted every politician and god man. I probably missed out quite a few too.
Have a great Sunday, my friend,
Eric
P/s. BTW, I simply love your posts – gives me chuckles but also plenty to think.

Hello Steve,
Now how did I miss your comment? [Red faced]
All you say is true isn’t it. We all look in the mirror and see what we wish to see.
After several starts and stops, I’m posting to a simple schedule now.
Have a great week ahead, Steve.
Cheers!
Eric

Shrewd observation, Eric.
LOL! If you say so, Ina.
Thank you,
