  1. The world of media is rapidly changing. In McLuhan’s “Understanding Media” he reflected on the many forms of media in our time, but the internet and instant messaging were just a dream. I have stated elsewhere that like the Kennedy and Nixon debate, where history states made Kennedy the winner of the 1960 election, history will record that Trump was the first president elected due to power of social media. It is literally the collective unconscious of the globe. We do not yet full understand it’s implications … !

  2. Is this the same as the Christian maxim: ‘first cast the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast the mote out of thy brother’s eye.”, except said with fewer words on a topic close to all our 2017 hearts?

    1. Jane dear,

Yes, very much in that vein.

We believe in freedom of speech!
We believe in freedom to follow one’s beliefs!
      We believe in diversity!
      We believe you are wrong!

And I roll on the floor laughing…

      Peace,
      Eric

  3. Very true. People use Facebook as a platform for their own agenda, hatred, strife and gripes. I delete them off and don’t continue to follow those ones who do if they get real nasty. Whatever happened to old fashioned respect and civility is all but gone.

    1. Hello Joyce,

I do have Facebook ‘friends’ who rant – but I keep them on. Difficult as it might be, especially when they slam all that you believe in – I like to hear another’s opinions. There are lessons there, I reckon.

The only time I ‘remove’ someone from my Facebook is when they lodge slurs at me or my loved ones – then, the gloves come out and they get to see the steel!

      Peace,
      Eric
