Dear Friends and Inhabitants of Blogsville 🙂

Due to time constraints, effective next week, this is my new posting schedule:

1. Fallen Grace continues on Wednesdays,

2. Haiku/Poem/Brothers Grinn/Flashfiction on Fridays, and

3. My Blog Pick, every first Monday of the month. I might also upload adhoc posts on Mondays

This would provide enough time – in order of priority – to fashion (hopefully) thoughtful replies to comments posted on my blog; free up time to visit commenters’ blogs and post considered comments of my own, and also to ‘read’ the blogs that I follow – whether or not they visit/comment on my blog. Currently, I’m following/reading about 50 blogs – the number is slowly growing – and visit them at least once a week. I also follow a couple of hundred more on an adhoc basis.

I try to visit all who tick “Like” but don’t always manage a return visit. With about 2,400 bloggers subscribed to Written Words Never Die, it’s getting somewhat impossible.

(I sincerely appreciate any comments on how you prioritize and manage/respond to all the “Comment” and “Like” that you receive – in addition to reading the Blogs you follow)

As I’ve always maintained, blogging has to be fun and the above schedule would go a long way to keep that flame stoked. The discerning would have noticed that since I started blogging in November 2011 (with a 6-month break in 2012) I’ve gradually reduced daily posts to five, down to three and now this. Hopefully, the quality of the posts has seen some improvement.

Thank you for your understanding and have a great weekend,

Eric

P/s Most of you who may be unaware, I also have another blog – My Write Business Way – where I upload management and business articles, and events – once a fortnight.

      1. 🙂 Yeah, so long I have been away from reading posts so I am thirsty to read. Thank you for your visits to my ministry blog and thank you for your concern. Life seems crazy filled with too many commitments 🙁

  1. You are so organized, Eric, and your new schedule sounds great. I can’t even imagine a second blog and chuckle whenever I see it when I sign into WP. I have almost 1400 followers, which floors me and there is no way I can keep up. I don’t know how to respond to all the likes and still keep my day job, family time and doggie time…but, as you do, I appreciate all the visits and just do my best. I have stressed about it, though, because I do feel bad if I miss posts…but the emails appear quicker than I can read them.
So, now you know if it takes me awhile to get here, just know that I will. I certainly don’t expect others to keep up with every post of mine and I have literally apologized to others! Anyway, you’re awesome, my friend, love your blog and just keep doing what you’re doing! Sorry I talked your ear off, too! 😉 Hugs and blessings to you and your family!

    1. As I’ve always maintained, blogging ought to be fun – and we’re in control. I can post 7 days a week but that would leave no time to visit/comment on bloggers who give me their time. We all need to find our balance, I reckon.

No, you didn’t talk my ear off and in fact, I much appreciate this unfettered sharing. Thank you Lauren.

I can only speak for myself – you don’t have to visit/comment on every post of mine – do so, as/when time permits. Enjoy and don’t let it stress you out.

Luv, hugz and all lovely belssings to you and family too,
      Eric 🙂

      1. Aww…thanks, Eric, for your understanding and input, in which I agree with…when blogging becomes stressful, something is wrong! And finding balance…hmmm…now there’s a new concept! lol Anyway, wishing you all the same, as well! 🙂

  2. Hi Eric,

Thanks for stopping by my blog and liking my latest post.

You are very organized and talented. To be involved with a business blog and a creative blog is quite a task.

There are times that I just can’t seem to update my blog. Maybe organization is the answer.

    Great talent.

    1. Hello Pat,

First time here, I see – Welcome 🙂

Thank you for your kind words. I’ve always been a very organized person but also take care not to let it rule my life too much.

You have much talent in photography and published too, I notice – congratulations.

      All good wishes,
      Eric

  3. You are just too good and too successful. What a nice quandary. I echo comments like Jane Thorne’s and wish you all the best on your new schedule. I did wonder, and still do whether you ever have time to sleep or even to eat! By the way I love the pun in the red box – very Eric!
Here’s thanking you for being you,
    Cheerio
    Jane

    1. Hello Jane dear,

In the time I’ve got to know you via your writings, I’ve learned much and feel blessed. In the 1960s I had some wonderful Caucasian ladies (all British military wives) teach me in school – mostly literature and English. I’m an adherent, or at least try to be, of English as it ought to be spoken/written. Your writing style and phrases hark back to my growing up years – so lovely.

Thank you too for your ever kind and considerate comments and replies.

Luv and hugz (Yes, not how English is supposed to be written)
      Eric

  4. Wow Eric I can say that I am truly honored that I see you as a fairy regular visitor to my blog and I do not reciprocate as I should. I do my best to be a good blog friend but there is only so much time in a day.

Again thank you for being a kind follower.

    Much respect,
    Namaste
    Sindy

      1. Thanks friend but it is only fair I think if someone graces you with their presence to reciprocate in kind. Just sometimes not enough time in the day with school and such. 😉

  5. Hello my lovely buddy over there in Singapore. You achieve so much with your writing creativity and your thoughtful comments on your frequent visits to all our blogs. Your support and encouragement means more than I can say. So for you in return, good luck with your new schedule, I look forward to your posts and send love and hugs to you. Xxx

    1. Hello Jane buddy,

I knew you would fully appreciate my need to reschedule. You do no less with your visits and words of encouragement. And as I’ve said before, you do so even with all the current challenges you face.

      Much luv and hugz buddy,
      Eric 🙂

  6. That seems like a good schedule. I’m having to cut my back as well, although I’m going to try to post four a week. It does get hard to keep up with everyone else’s blog and make good comments and replies to everyone. Keep up the good work, Eric. You’re doing a great job. 🙂

    1. Thank you David, and I appreciate your contribution here 🙂

I can upload 5 posts a week and that’s not the problem. But it will not allow me to visit and comment on all the blogs I want to. So, working within the time I can spare, twice a week should about do it for me, I reckon.

Keep up your great posts too and I shall continue to read and relish,
      Eric

  7. Your ability to publish the complex stories, wonderful humor and poetry is marvelous Eric. Staying current and organized is a necessity, I know I frequently fall behind and then beat myself up (like today). You are one of my favorite places to visit, so I will look forward to your scheduled posts with great anticipation!

    1. One of your favourite places to visit – Wow! This is high compliment indeed, Val dear – all the more, coming from someone who has gone through much.

I hope to continue to engage with my twice weekly posts.

      Have a great week ahead,
      Eric

  8. Hi Eric, I totally understand about limiting your blogging posts and time spent here. I admire your writing and am so pleased to know you here. I am glad you are continuing to contribute to this blog and wish you and family a wonderful weekend x

  9. Eric, I find it a challenge to keep up with visiting blogs. It seems to work best for me to follow up comments with a visit right away so that I don’t forget where I’ve been. The likes get followed up if time permits… I, too, cut back posts earlier this year so that I would not get overwhelmed. And like you, I have more than one blog; but the other ones are not as busy, so it gives me a creative outlet without the pressure…

I, personally, cannot make it to visit all posts, and I totally understand that others cannot either. It sounds like you are finding out what works for you. A writer needs to listen to their heart and write from it. If we know that we are doing what is right for our life, then we can have peace and joy. I am currently sorting this out again…

    Blessings ~ Wendy

    1. Hello Wendy,

Thank you for sharing. Both our approaches run parrallel. I thought alerting my regular readers is the decent thing to do, rather than to simply change track. I suppose these changes will continue into the future.

More projects are coming my way, but I hope to keep blogging as regularly as I can.

      Peace and blessings,
      Eric
