The short thought provoking lines are very inspiring
Yes, most of my posts tend to be short – visitors/readers generally shun long posts – though, where the contents are captivating, all bets are off. Experts suggest a mix of short/long posts. I usually post one ‘long’ post on Sundays – my Fallen Grace series and even then, it is less than 3 minutes read.

a drop of water thus
becomes an ocean
on the parched part!

The above poem is beautiful, Eric. For one without life, it is a breath of that very thing that brings hope, like the drop of water to barren land, our soul can be barren too. I see this applied to spiritual hunger, as well.
Most certainly, Joyce – it does apply to spiritual hunger too.
As you’ve probably gathered, I’m not into long expositions. I sincerely believe that all of us are wise beyond our own imagination and all it needs is to pull out a tiny wedge and see how it gushes forth. People are talented far beyond what they give themselves credit for.
As a writer, my job is not to preach – but to prick!

You’ve said it so well. I could not agree more. And hopefully the reader will see that part where he/she thirsts or hungers in the words spoken.
Metaphorical too – captures drops of concern, drops of anger, drops of sweat or blood. Perhaps not said in the poem, but who ever reads a poem for just what is there? What it implies and where it can lead … gorgeous poem!
You covered almost all the bases there and so very right too.
You are new here but regular visitors know that I love tossing a pebble and learning from the ripples.

Several years ago, in the Salt Flats, there was a 100 year flood, and… a once every 100 years of bloom, which people came to see from all over the world. Water is life!

I love it when one is inspired by others to write more. Thats a great compliment to your jerseygirl friend. This reminds me of the microscopic views of a grain of sand that actually shows miniture or microscopic shells which in fact are creatures. a grain of sand or a drop of water – all exhibit life in its infinite variety. I enjoyed this.
