*cont’d from A Serpent in a Glass Jar*
Daniel turned scarlet and covered his privates.
“Perhaps it is time to remove this vestige of the Third.”
The Golden Being held out his hands and a stunning brilliant tunic of pure white and fine yellow filigree covered him. The robe throbbed with life, like a second skin. Shards of gold and platinum shot forth and curled back. The intensity of the Golden Being’s light hurt and Daniel squinted tears.
“What you see is a faint version of my aura,” his Lord said. “If I appeared in my true form, you will see only a globe of light.”
Yes, that ball of light I first saw, Daniel thought, it seems so very long ago. What manner of god is the Golden Being?
“Daniel, let me reveal the brilliance of your aura.” The Golden Being touched his protégé’s forehead.
A yellow garment materialized over Daniel. Though several shades paler than his Mentor’s, it was brighter than the robe he had lost. His new robe also throbbed with life. Daniel tugged at his tunic, conscious of how easily he had lost the earlier one. It was loose and dropped from shoulders down to his ankles.
Feels like a second skin-like covering. Of course, I remember now.
Hindu and Greek scriptures spoke of gods and demi-gods who wore a second skin-like covering of body armour. The most prominent were Karna of the Hindu epic, Mahābhārata and Achilles in the Greek epic, Iliad. Their skin armour had accorded them invincibility in battle.
“You swathed yourself with a quick mental adornment and like all imagery it faded but not this. What you perceive now is the sheath of your Astral body, one that evolves as you progress in cosmic spirituality.”
With a chuckle, his Mentor assured Daniel that it would not ‘slip away’. Daniel sighed and found new confidence in his gait as he followed his Mentor.
Daniel’s Third Eye gave him a new perspective of his surroundings but one thought piqued him the most. He saw his Mentor as god and hence he revealed himself as a god. The Dark Being, is he a devil? What’s his true form?
“A great many questions brim, reflective of human fascination with the Dark.” The Golden Being spoke in his even soothing tone. “Perhaps we should visit Purgatory and experience the consequences of this captivation.”
“Purgatory?” Daniel swallowed hard. “You said I’d just come from there. Isn’t that in the nether regions, where the Dark Being lurks?” The colour washed from Daniel’s face.
“Yes, but do not vex yourself unduly.” His Mentor stopped for Daniel to catch up. “A visit would help you blunt the doubts gnawing your peace, Daniel, doubts about heaven and hell. It would reveal your great strides unlike the vast number of humans who remain trapped in their own World of Illusion.”
They continued through the green tree-lined tunnel, which gave way to a warren of glass walled passages. Daniel felt the enclosure growing warmer, a green house. Many narrow and abrupt corners confronted them.
As they progressed down and around passages, Daniel’s legs grew heavy and he found great difficulty keeping up with his Mentor. The long passages narrowed with every step he took.
Daniel hurried but was unable to close the gap and had to rely on the brilliant glow of the Golden Being. The glow thinned and disappeared around a corner. Shadows danced on the glass walls. Oh no! Shadows! He latched on the beautiful aroma of his Mentor. A few more sharp turns and even that welcomed fragrance dissipated. Daniel looked up and drew a sharp breath. The mirrored ceiling reflected his ashen face – his features, so evil! What’s happening to me?
He reached a junction and corridors spidered away in several directions. The entire labyrinth had dropped dark and silent.
The smell of ash wafted towards him and a lump rose up his throat. He smelt burned incense and the air pressed heavy. A strong wind rushed with great velocity and violence towards him. He leaned and almost fell forward when the wind abruptly died. Awful silence filled the corridor.
Daniel braced himself and with tremulous caution, he squeaked,
“My Lord?”
To be continued…

I like it and will say that I find it very descriptive and very well written, Thank you for sharing and displaying your talents here :0
Glad that you found it to your liking.
I do enjoy your poems but do not always leave a comment – unless I have something worthwhile to add vibrancy to your post. But when I enjoy something, I always leave behind my calling card “like”
Here’s to a great Sunday,
Eric
What an imagination you have to be able to describe these scenes.
Thank you, Ian
I write what I picture in my mind, most times putting myself in the shoes of the actors.
Cheers, Eric
As usual, great writing. And finally, Daniel covered his privates. I thought he would just roam around naked, like a nudist.
I also find few examples from religious texts. Good examples they are.
In fact everybody goes about naked in the Astral – its their blinding lights that blinds the on-lookers
Yes, check the Fallen Grace page http://wp.me/P1YE83-10c
and you’ll find the subjects I am drawing from and with each new episode, adding to that list.
Thank you for your visit and compliment Ramu which are always welcomed and appreciated,
Eric
Looking forward to the next installment!
Hello Richard – glad that you’re following this series.

Thanks Eric! Ya sort of ,an evening of delightful deliciously made dinner at home. Its very seldom that we get time to sit quietly together,so a celebration at home with flowers and self baked cake!
Eric is a great writer. He adds beauty and charm which makes a reader to go through his write ups like sailing smoothly. God bless you Eric dear
Ah, my dear dear Tanveer,
I’ve missed your presence. And here you are bearing such smooth flowing words as gifts of encouragement.
Thank you dear and God bless us all,
Eric
P/s I’m very happy that you received my comment on your post “Knick-knacks or reminders” with generosity. Thank you
Wonderful imagery Eric! Am going to start from the beginning when I find a little more time
Dear Madhu,
Your recent post “Crossing Bridges!” is so apt as your photo journal helps build bridges all over the world.
Re: Fallen Grace, yes, it would be great if you could find the time to read Fallen Grace. You might want to go to this page where I collated the previous episodes in chronological order > http://wp.me/P1YE83-10c
Each post is 3 minutes or less of reading time.
Happy journeys of discovery,
Eric
I promise to treat myself soon
And what an awesome treat it has been!
Just another take on the invincibility of Karna and Achilles. When we carefully read the Mahābhārata and Iliad, we get glimpses that their “armour” is much more than that depicted by Bollywood and Hollywood.
find a lot of similarities between the Greek and Indian mythology too..and what is going to happen next?
You might want to check the Fallen Grace Page here, if you so wish > http://wp.me/P1YE83-10c
It provides a summary of all the topics “touched” on and with each new episode, I shall be adding to this list – a future Glossary. The page also lists a brief on the next episode – without giving away the plot.
Here’s to a great start to the week,
Eric
Wonderful Eric look forward to readingmore:)

Next installment up on Sunday 3rd March.
Glad you enjoyed it,

I’m still waiting for the result with impatience
At about 3 minutes per read, I publish these episodes once a week – time for all to read (without turning off others who are not into it).
Thank you for your patience, Gys and meanwhile check out the “Titanic” today
Ackkk it’s like I’m watching a movie and just when I’m on the edge of my seat I see the words on the screen “to be continued”…!!!
Yes, I know Christy B – reminds me of following some TV serial.
I try to keep the episodes short as not many like loooong reads.
Cheers, Eric
OooOOh! I do like being swept away into another world as it were! Great reading, and I’m another one who really must read this from the beginning but what I’ve seen so far is must have reading!
These words mean so much to me, Wolfie.
At the risk of being a broken record, I made it somewhat easier for those who wish to read from the beginning. Simply go to the Fallen Grace Page here > http://wp.me/P1YE83-10c
You can read at your leisure.
Cheers,
Eric
P/s Gonna pop over soon to see what Ned has been up to.
Like the title of a serpent in a glass jar – visible and frightening but really harmless if you can see the encased glass.
What saddens here is whether in the world of reality or illusion, we always feel the need to be cloaked in some form. We are also trained and conditioned to the formed images created by those who sought to control. Hence the fear and inability to look closer and discover the glass jar.
We know it can’t hurt us – yet many place their hand with trepidation on a glass jar. Fear can be irrational when it grips and twists us.
Can I say this without you being offended Eric? Of course I can, Daniel is such a schmuck. His own mind creates these doubts, his own heart fails him and thrusts him into the shadow. What a schmuck!
Wonderful writing. Wonderful imagery.
Why would I be offended? Fire away
The Third is ingrained in Daniel. Speak of having to purge to refill —
Have a great week ahead Val.
Cheers, Eric
Great imagination and great flow! Could not get to your blog easily … some problems!
Oh dear – I did not experience any problems this end. But whatever it was, glad you came through.
Thank you Aparna for your persistence and this comment.
Cheers, Eric
I especially like the final paragraphs where Daniel was ‘abandoned’ in purgatory, lurking among the shadows. Of course, I wanted to see what happened next, but I understand I must wait. (And I’m behind in reading, so it’s possible I may not have to wait too long…I’m off to check that out
)
Hello and welcome Janna,
These episodes are 2 to 3 minutes read and do challenge sometimes. Hence, I restrict them to once a week. It just works out that each cut-off is left with a mini cliff hanger – not really planned, but seem to somehow fall in place. Probably because, so much is happening with Daniel.
If you go to the page Fallen Grace > http://wp.me/P1YE83-10c you’ll see one-line summaries/teasers and the schedule for future episodes.
Thank you for reading and commenting
Eric
Engrossing writing Eric! Excellent depiction of the Astral. A true aid in deciphering shadow and light during these last days of duality and the cycles through 3 and 4. Thanks for the insights, Alia
Thank you Alia, for your visit and comment. Happy that it “syncs” for you.
Peace, Eric
The adventure continues…I’m fully enjoying the read Eric… xx
Thank you Penny
