The people, they are…normal…and why not?
Peals of laughter filled the air as children frolicked in the water. Doe eyed lovers strolled hand-in-hand along the banks of the stream. More people materialised and filled the rolling lawns.

A dark fog gathered and boiled in ominous silence. Dreadful red eyes appeared and a form solidified.
A gaunt creature, on hoofed legs, stomped deliberate and ponderous towards Daniel. Its goatish features were a genetic nightmare of man and beast. It stooped low and blew burnt breath on Daniel’s face.
To be continued…

You definitely know how to keep one on the edge of their seat.
Hello there Susan dear,
With a book, one expects to curl up in bed and (even) devour the lot but in Blogsville, the time most readers can spare is understandably restricted. I try to keep reads within 3 minutes or less (mostly less) – hopefully it does not turn off anyone.
Perhaps I should increase the frequency? Hmmm —
Thank you for your visits and comments,
Eric
P/S Would love to read more of your morning walks and what new “dangers” lurk in the bushes.
I follow you since one week and I’m captivated by your writing. I love your style. You enter straight into the story. Thank you for sharing
Thank you for visiting, Gys. And you are very welcome my dear
Poetry in English and French – Wow!
Visited your About Me page and left the following:
I am always amazed by people who straddle two laguages – not merely speak but can write poetry in both. That is a gift – it provides a venue to literally bridge cultures and promote peace and harmony.
All good wishes, Eric
P/s I’m following your blog too
I try to do the best in my english translation but sometimes i do some faults and mistakes. I have the luck that some readers corrects me
I just love the name Daniel.
This is a very gripping piece, very. Great stuff, Eric!
Dear Noeleen,
I visited your blog and read the “What it’s about, I’m about” page — Wow!
I did not leave a comment as I need to let it all sink in – perhaps I will not leave a comment as others before me have said it all, I reckon. I’m following your blog and shall return to read more.
Happy that you liked that name Daniel – it sounds almost ordinary but took me a long time before settling on that name. Now as I read and revise the episodes, am convinced it was the right choice. Thank you for the affirmation, Noeleen, and I know why you love that name too
All good wishes, Eric
Eric, thank you so much. You’re lovely!
The name Daniel just landed in my head and wouldn’t budge. I feared it was common too, but it is so steadfast…
I bought him a book when he was younger entitled ‘Daniel in the Lion’s Den’. I loved it! And of course, with his name all over the place, he did too
Thanks for your respect my way, I thank you much.
You are a master of descriptive writing.
Hello Ian – there you go again with your unstinting praise.
You found my weak spot
Wow, very intoxicating in the beginning, then onto extremely gripping in the end…So many visuals and emotions are woven through your writing, Eric…just wonderful!
Hugs and blessings, Lauren
Daniel is experiencing a place that swamps him and his faculties – sometimes, we get pulled into that surge and are submerged.
But, let’s keep Daniel company – and perhaps we’ll learn what it is all about – destination or journey.
Plenty of hugz and luv coming your way too, Lauren.
Eric
On the edge of my seat to say the least. You have the talent. Press on. Please press on.
Hello Tim,
Thank you for the visit and comment. I see that you’ve released a collection of short stories. Congratulations! I bet there is a novel swimming around somewhere. Yes?
I started my first novel – Beck & Call – with one sentence, then one chapter and — before you know it, I messed it up. (Not surprised, I am sure).
My daughter called it a “school composition”. After 25 redrafts – I heard better comments. But that first draft – it was a school composition
Re: This Fallen Grace serial, glad you latched on. Grateful for the visit and encouragement.
I dropped by your ‘About’ page and left a comment – as above. Hope it comes through.
I’ll be popping over to your blog to read more.
Have a good one,
Eric
I like the part when Daniel called out ” Oh my sweet Jesus, I have made it” lol …. it was hilarious ……. anticipation, déjà vu of paradise ha! parallels our own false consciousness …… good going Eric!!
Hello Aparna dear,
As we follow Daniel’s journey, we see how he constantly interprets and tries to force fit everything he experiences into his beliefs.
Most of us – certainly I’m one – are guilty of this – expecting expectations to be fulfilled.
Let us accompany Daniel and see what springs forth from the murky bushes next.
Peace, Eric
Vivid description of “heaven”, and anticipating what comes next, I think Daniel will frightfully exclaim,”they were right, there is hell”! Great writing as always, Eric. Best wishes, Dee
Dee, when you said — I think Daniel will frightfully exclaim, they were right, there is hell! — I burst out laughing. It touched a funny bone in me. A great way to start the morning
All good wishes my dear,
Eric
Oh my, poor Daniel. Lost in his ecstasy only to be walloped by the world around him. I’m eagerly waiting to see what happens to him next.
Hello and thank you for visiting and commenting on the serial Fallen Grace. As you know, I am also following your blog. You write about the Dark side — intriguing and I’ll return.
Re: Fallen Grace — yes, poor Daniel and let’s see what awaits him.
All good wishes, Eric
The ending sounds scary..what happens next?
Well, the next part is up – please see > I am Shadow
Hope you enjoy this,
Eric
I just saw that, Mr Alagan. It was enjoyable indeed:)
Fantastic description, sir. Daniel seems to be having a tough time gathering himself. Go a little easy on him. haha!
Hello Ramu – always nice to have you visit.
Daniel is the protagonist and you know what they say about placing conflicts before the protagonist – bring him right down to the pits and see how he prevails and in the process grows.
I read your post today re: Where is my Valentine. Quite enjoyed it and I hope you find her soon. She is waiting, I’m sure and for now, she is pretty good in ‘hiding’. You just need to brush up on your ‘seeking’
Cheers, Eric
Daniel’s self discovery is terrible today. You bring him to the edge and then pull him back.
Hello Val,
Yes, the poor man is on a roller coaster ride of discovery and disappointments.
Thank you for reading and commenting.
All good wishes,
Eric
P/s I was wondering why I don’t receive updates of your blog in my Reader and saw it moments ago. I forgot to tick “Follow”. Sorry (embarrassed). I’ve just ticked “Follow”. (Still embarrassed).
Quite a magical journey it was Eric! going through thru your lines, Till the last line the spell doesn’t break and you hold the senses of the reader with you ! Loved it!
Oh, you’re a sweet one Soumya. Thank you for reading and commenting.
All good wishes,
Eric
Eric, may I reblog your this post as my guest introduction to my readers?
Dear Yoshiko,
Yes, please go ahead and reblog.

Hello Uzo,
I’ve enjoyed what I read so far and am following your blog posts.
Thank you for visiting and leaving behind this nice comment. Hope to see you back.
Cheers, Eric
I promise. Keep up the good work
Magical, enthralling and brilliant tapestry of the mind, skilfully woven and manifested, my dear friend Eric. Just loved it.
Many blessings to you, always.
Hello Shaheen – you are back
Trust the trip went well and here you are, with gifts of praise and encouragement for a friend.
Much blessings and hugz,
Eric
My dear, I am still away..just checked the blog. Shall be away for several weeks, but, when I get a chance I shall visit soon. Lots of love & hugs. S
Reblogged this on Yoshiko.
Looking forward to the “to be continued” bit….
Dear Jacqueline – next installment up tomorrow (late night) after I return from that rally
Eric, that story reads like a delirious fantasy book…you ought to be writing novels like this!
Eva dear, thank you
This is actually a full-fledged novel that I am writing and feedback from readers helps keep me going.
I do hope you’ll return to read the next instalment that I shall be posting later today.
Cheers, Eric
I am going to peek now! I would love to own a copy of this novel!
Wow, what a transition. I don’t like the second place very much!
Yes, that is terrible isn’t it Janna. I’m with you – prefer the first place too.
Cheers, Eric
Wonder who has created and implanted the visions of heaven and hell in our mind so that we are groomed to be fixated in our thoughts. Trying to fit our experiences and beliefs instead of seeing with what you refer to as our “Third Eye”. This is what Daniel is going through to realise what he has tranformed into in his World of Illusion.
This passage immediately draws to me the thin line between Reality and Illusion.
Heaven and Hell? The old carrot and stick approach, perhaps. But admittedly, most of us need these infantile prompts.
It is a fine line indeed – between Reality and Illusion. And this is not esoteric, as we encounter Reality and Illusion in our lives – whether love, wealth, happiness or a plethora of other “things” we hold dear.
Well worded an expression.
Thank you Neelkanth,
Happy to have you visit again,
Eric
P/s I’ve made it easy for those who missed the earlier episodes > simply go to http://wp.me/P1YE83-10c
Such engaging writing Eric! I really thought I had read this far before but I find that I did not, so now I have some “catching up” to do. You are wise to break the segments into short pieces. I have attempted to do that with my Aurora episodes but some of the earlier writings don’t divide so well. Now that I have begun bringing the pages forward as posts, I am writing with those “busy bloggers” in mind, of which I am one. Be back soon to resume this exciting and well paced story of our “roller coaster of discovery and disappointment” in the Third. Blessings Be, Alia
Thank you Alia, for your visit and compliments.
The orginal work was “heavy” – everyone of my reviewers loved it but also said it was heavy going. Interestingly, everytime I read my own work – it remained captivating but I too felt “heavy” in the head.
These episodes are a vastly – yes, vastly – softened version and more for public consumption. And sound bites is the way to go, if you want to attract readers, I reckon.
Peace and blessings,
Eric
isn’t that always the way, you’re offered a taste of something that’s too good to be true, and… it is… Ah Daniel…what next?… xx
Ah, the World of Illusion can sometimes seem more real than the World of Reality – and many are there who dwell in it even here on earth.
